Muriel Bush

Growing up in Vancouver, I have enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the West Coast of British Columbia. From a very early age, I knew that art would be my life.

Starting as a self-taught artist, I knew I needed to expand my knowledge. The first step was to enroll in a fine art course at the U.B.C. night programme, where l achieved a first-class standing. From there, full-time enrollment at Emily Carr College of Art and Design was in the cards. I was starting my second year and graduating three years later, in 1985, with honours in painting and printing.

My art is predominantly semi-abstract paintings in acrylic and oils and more realistic drawings in pen and ink and pencil, all inspired by the West Coast.

Gallery exhibits and showings in my downtown studio helped to place my work in both private and corporate collections in Canada and abroad.

I moved from Vancouver to Parksville in 2015 and gained a new perspective on my art and lifestyle.

I am here to stay!
