Joanne Ayley

I paint bright and colourful landscapes, wildlife and fun flowers using acrylics in a style that relates directly to my past as a Graphic Designer. I love visual drama and contrast so tend to use lots of sharp edges and complimentary colours.

Living on Vancouver Island provides endless inspiration. From our backyard birdhouses to the fabulous trails, golf courses and ocean and mountain views there is always something that I feel compelled to capture in my art. I grew up in Quebec and Ontario and my background includes many years as a graphic designer and writer of marketing materials.

I am an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (Arrowsmith and Nanaimo chapters), the DeCosmos Fine Arts Society, the Oceanside Arts Council and the Nanaimo Art Council
