Fay St Marie

Fay St Marie has lived on Vancouver Island since 2005 and works out of her backyard studio in Parksville, BC. She lived & worked in Saskatchewan and in Northern Alberta and NWT.

Fay completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinguished Exhibition in 1996 from the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in painting. Fay has been painting since the 1970s but started fulltime since leaving the nursing profession in the mid990s. —

She has had —1several solo and group shows since the 1980s. Her paintings hang in private, corporate, Government of Saskatchewan, University of Saskatchewan, Ukrainian Museum of Canada, and the Ukrainian Canadian Art Foundation collections. Fay is an exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.

Painting primarily in acrylics, she also incorporates various media and objects to create her art pieces. It is the fascination of something specific like the mood, colour, texture, light, or line of the landscape, flower or object that influences her, or it is the passion for individuals or situations that inspire her to tell a story like the widows of Ukraine.
