Deb Peters
Deb Peters love of B.C.’s beautiful natural settings was the catalyst for moving to Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island in 2014. The style she most loves to paint are impressionistic scenes from her travels; using colour, warm tones and whimsical settings. Her paintings help the viewer to see a story within a painting, to hopefully connect to the art work and enable them to enjoy the story for years to come. “What is art unless it engages the imagination!”
During the 1980’s, Deb expressed her creative side by becoming a working potter, developing dish-ware and sculptures. The pottery was designed in a Japanese style, with dish sets in bamboo and orchid paintings. Her works were sold in Western Canada, the Yukon and Japan. She then moved into education, teaching art, music and writing.
Deb can now be found in her studio using acrylics, oils and watercolours to illustrate the beauty that is abundant around Vancouver Island. She is an Active member of the Canadian Federation, DeCosmos Fine Arts, Sooke Fine Art Society, Oceanside Community Arts Council, Pacific Rim Arts Society; participating in Art shows and in galleries. Please see her website to see her colourful paintings.
